Hana Pilates and Bodyworks Pilates Mat Certification program is designed to create thoughtful, creative and successful Pilates instructors. The curriculum will emphasize the fundamentals and principles of Pilates along with the beginner through advanced exercises. We will review anatomy as it relates to Pilates, postural imbalances, injuries, pain issues, chronic ailments and disease. Pilates is a body therapy technique that was originally designed to rehabilitate the body therefore we will emphasize the physical therapy aspect. The curriculum will include modifications & transitions so you can give every student, regardless of age and fitness level, the best workout possible as you learn how to develop your own teaching style. There will also be a section
on adding props, (rings, rollers, light weights and fitness balls) to your mat class.

- A comprehensive manual & the ‘Pilates Body’ book
- 8 Private Mat sessions
- 3 - 5 hr. workshops
- Cueing, coaching and teaching tips for clients at different levels of ability
- Safety information for teaching older adults, pre/ post-natal women, and clients with back, knee, neck and shoulder conditions
- Tips on teaching successful group programs
100 hours total
- 5 pre-requisite Mat Classes
- 3 - 5 hour workshops
- 8 private sessions taken with HP Instructor (50% off)
- 20 hours of practice
- 20 hours of observation
- 20 Mat classes as the instructor
- 12 private Mat sessions as the instructor

Additional information about program
HP Bodyworks Reformer teacher training will give you a complex understanding of the Reformer and how to safely and effectively translate the Pilates Mat work to the Reformer. We will focus on the beginner and intermediate level exercises mainly since these will be used most often but we will also go through all advanced work as well. Proper alignment, core strength, stability, flexibility, balance, posture and coordination are key elements that we will dive into. Anatomy as it relates to Pilates, postural imbalances, injuries, pain issues, chronic ailments and disease will be emphasized. The curriculum will include modifications & transitions so you can give every student the best workout possible as you learn how to develop your own teaching style. Safety is important so we will make sure you are comfortable performing all exercises and confident spotting and teaching your clients and classes on the Reformer.
Pre-requisite:
· Teacher Training in Mat work or substantial experience in Mat work
The Reformer teacher training program includes:
· Exercise instruction in the classical Pilates Reformer repertoire along with modifications covering beginner, intermediate and advanced work
· A Reformer manual including sample programs and classes for all levels
· Cueing, coaching, spotting and safety tips for clients at different levels of ability
· Equipment safety, maintenance, and start mode
· Safety information for teaching older adults, pre/ post-natal women, and clients with back, knee, neck and shoulder conditions
· Tips on teaching successful private, duets, and group classes
· 10 Private Reformer sessions w/ Meghan
· Attend 10 classes on Reformer
· 20 hours of observation
· 3 - 5 hr. workshops
· 20 hrs. personal practice on the Reformer
· 25 hrs. of student teaching on the Reformer (private sessions and small groups)
100 hours total
After the hours are completed there will be a written and practical exam.

Chair Teacher Training

HP Bodyworks Chair teacher training will give you a comprehensive overview of the Chair work. The curriculum will include modifications & transitions, so you can give every student the best workout possible as you learn how to develop your own teaching style. Safety is important, so we will make sure you are comfortable performing all exercises and confident spotting and teaching your clients and classes on the Chair. Proper alignment, core strength, stability, flexibility, balance, posture and coordination are key elements that we will dive into. Anatomy as it relates to Pilates, postural imbalances, injuries, pain issues, chronic ailments and disease will be emphasized.

The Chair teacher training program includes:
· Exercise instruction in the Pilates Chair repertoire along with modifications covering beginner, intermediate and advanced work
